Jenn & Alex’s elegant backyard wedding in Oakland was special for a lot of reasons. Firstly, it was in Alex’s childhood home and backyard, which made is so intimate and comfortable. I got married in my childhood backyard, so special days like this are near and dear to my heart. Secondly, they included some fun details that really represented them as a couple. They met at UCSD at the aerospace program, so their stamped on their wedding invite were spaced themed. Alex made his wedding band, which was so cool. We did their portraits in a park amongst the redwoods, and everything from Jenn’s whimsical dress to the gorgeous bouquet was the perfect mix between easy, casual and elegant. I loved her brides people’s mismatched wedding attire and felt like it was the perfect casual fit for their day. They didn’t have a formal sit down dinner, but instead had Mexican food catered and people could eat whenever they wanted. They cut a donut together instead of a cake, and their first dance will always be one of my favorites because of the look on Alex’s face when he was dancing with his bride. I feel so lucky to have been a part of this intimate day – congrats you two!
