Jen & Joe had a beautiful wedding day in the Russian river wine county. They got married on top of a hill overlooking the vineyards by her brother (who surprised everyone by getting ordained and overcame his fear of public speaking to do an amazing job as their celebrant), and dined under twinkle lights and oak trees.

My favorite thing about their day was their unique story. They met when they were kids and were friends for years before starting their romantic relationship. In high school, Joe admitted to Jen that he was colorblind, so Jen met him every morning at their lockers to help him pick out his tie for their uniform. Their friendship lasted past college and into adulthood, where they lived together as friends before they even started their relationship. You can tell that these two really are best of friends – their goofy personalities and sweet looks all night made the atmosphere relaxed and so much fun. Their table names were named after animals that were significant to them, and when explaining the sweetheart table, which was named “doves”, Jen told me that it was because when they were first getting together and telling each other they loved each other, they went back and forth saying “no I love you more, no I love YOU more” and Joe said, “well, I double love you, I DOVE you!” Engraved on his ring was the phrase “Doves Forever 5/12/18”. It was such a sweet, unique sentiment to their relationship!
