When my best friend told me he was going to propose to his girlfriend and that he wanted me there to photograph it, I immediately started crying. I am such a sucker for proposal stories, and just hearing about what he had planned and the fact that two of my favorite people were about to get engaged was just too much. The entire day I was bouncing off the walls with excitement and nervousness and could not wait to get up to Sonoma for their special moment. I met them at Kunde Family Estates to “scout a location for a wedding”  and “take some christmas card photos”, and the moment I saw Alex and Nicole I swear I almost ruined it by crying again. But alas, the tears held out until we got to the second scouting location, a beautiful look out overlooking Kunde’s property and vineyards. As soon as we got up there Alex look at me and I knew it was go time. He pulled Nicole close and whispered sweet words of love and commitment to her as I frantically captured their special moments while trying not to suffocate in my tears of happiness. To say Nicole was shocked would be an understatement – she could not believe he had tricked her and that we were all in on it. Then, to top if off, we went to a third location to “check out another place” (she still thought we were scouting!) and Alex surprised her again by meet up with their families for a gorgeous sunset picnic overlooking the vineyards. It was such a special afternoon and I can not thank Alex and Nicole enough for letting me be a part of their special day. Love you both to the moon and I am SO EXCITED for you!!
